Meki Megara was born in Tetouan in 1933.
He was introduced to painting very early and did his first exhibition at the age of 16. Meki first studied in 1952 at Fine Arts and Architecture School of Tetouan before joining the prestigious school "Santa Isabel de Hungria" and completing his artistic formation at the San Fernando School of Madrid.
In 1960, Meki returned to Morocco to teach drawing and painting. He will retire in 1992 and will dedicate his life to plastic arts.
In 2007, Meki was named a member of the Royal Academy of Fine Art in Cadiz.
He is a founding member of the museum of contemporary art of Tetouan.
Meki Megara died in november 2009.
